G-Sonique Alien 4DX Binaural topology synthesizer

Acid sound is just a hoot. Acid sound has been around for almost 40 years. But people want to hear something new, a new sound, progress, innovation.

Acid sound is great, but it needs something new.

While regular acid synthesizers are usually mono, our new Alien4DX is not just stereo, it is 3D binaural.

What does that mean?

This sound is not only stereo, but the entire topology (the internal "wiring" of virtual-analog circuits and cables, which are simulated through codes and
modules) contains the so-called binaural topology, which emulates analog binaural circuits (yes binaural technology can be 100% analog not only
digital) and dsp chips.


What is it about?

This special approach can create the feeling/impression that the sound is in a real 3D/4D space! And sounds are
flying around your head…

Yes, you only need 2 speakers or headphones and you don't need quadraphonic sound. This is not some simple reverb. Binaural technology is based on
special psychoacoustic principles that can create three-dimensional sound and place sound in space. Instead of boring 2D mono sound, the listener finds
himself in a magical three-dimensional or four-dimensional world. The sound of the synthesizer seems to come to life.

How is this achieved? Part of the algorithms is secret, but what we can reveal is that procedures that simulate the real world are used - just as you always
have only 2 pairs of ears (not 4), you can still focus the sound in space and determine where it comes from - whether from behind, side, front, left, right (this is
what evolution has allowed us to survive - we detected where the sound of a tiger or a bear that wanted to eat us was coming from). How is this possible?
Well, the ear and brain can also detect a subtle difference in the time shift of sound - the sound reaches the left ear a few milliseconds later than the right ear
if the sound/sound source comes from the right. In addition, the sound source is frequency and phase shifted and distorted. Thanks to this, we not only hear
stereo, but we can also determine the direction from which the sound is coming - whether the source is in front of us or behind us, left or right. These
principles of space and hearing simulation, including phase and frequency distortions and modulations, are also used by our binaural technology,
and not only that.

"Almost all synthesizers, whether analog or digital, are mono = left and right channels are the same until you use effects.

Do you sometimes find their sound boring, flat, indistinct?

We tried a completely new concept.

There is a possibility to make a stereo synthesizer and not only that. There is also a spatial almost 4D sound, the so-called binaural sound, when you feel
that the sound is located in an exact place in space, not to the left or right, but directly in the space between 2 ears, whereas in real space the sound reaches
each ear a little delayed, a little frequency changed, it bounces off the walls a bit, you can precisely focus it psychoacoustically and you can roughly determine
where it is even with your eyes closed.

This effect can be achieved with special digital technologies but also with the help of analog circuits (in the mastering studio we have devices for binaural
processing that are 100% analog). We combined the emulation of both digital and analog approaches, created different circuits and modules.

We applied this new concept to our first and legendary Alien 303 synthesizer, which many used not only as a bass machine but mainly as an acid
lead synthesizer.

We love acid, rave, acid techno, acid psytrance leads, etc. this sound is cool and used for over 35 years. However, it's new millenium and people want to
hear something new and different all the time. So we did something else.

Alien 303 Binaural Topology brings a completely different type of sound than the classic Alien. Spatial, organic, very analog and significantly harmonically
rich. A single acid line fills the entire space. In addition, thanks to binaural topology technologies, you can significantly modify the sound even in the
frequency band with two additional filters.

So that you don't mistake it for binaural, there is no reverb and so on. it's a completely different technology to create 4D sound."
